MFA thesis exhibition
My work has always explored metaphorical concepts involving home and self. For this body of artwork, I looked into my own relationship with home and identity. While creating this body of work I was able to reclaim my power and work on my relationship with myself. I gained a better understanding of how experiences have shaped my identity. This has allowed me to move on and to gain back the power that I lost. I am in the process of mending relationships that were thought to be beyond repair. It can be difficult to navigate traumatic experiences, oftentimes people feel alone and isolate themselves from others. By sharing my experiences, I hope to create a space where others can reflect on their relationships with home in a space where they feel safe and supported.
